Thompson, Garland

In recognition of outstanding accomplishments as District 23 Commissioner from 1972-1987. The number of registered teams increased from 50 teams in 1972 to 352 in 1987.

Garland was appointed Deputy State Commissioner in 1980 and served in that position until he was appointed Kentucky ASA Commissioner in 1988. He was the tournament director for over 45 State Championship tournaments, 8 Midwest National Regionals, and one National Invitational tournament. Garland has made great contributions to amateur softball in Kentucky and is well deserving of this honor.
