JACK WAS WELL KNOWN AS A VERSATILE AND INTELLIGENT PLAYER OVER A 13-YEAR SPAN. PLAYING EVERY POSITION BEGINNING WITH THE PARKER & WAINSCOTT TEAM FROM GEORGETOWN. KENTUCKY. IN 1956. AND ENDED HIS CAREER WITH THE LEXINGTON KENTUCKY MERCHANTS IN 1968.
SOME OF HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING HIS CAREER INCLUDED PLAYING ON 6 KENTUCKY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS. PARKER & WAINSCOTT (1), SQUARE D COMPANY (4), AND THE LEXINGTON MERCHANTS (1). HE ALSO PLAYED FOR THE RUNNER-UP TEAMS IN 1958. 1960 AND 1961.
JACK HAD THE HONOR OF PARTICIPATING IN 8 MIDWEST NATIONAL REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS WITH TWO (2) OF THOSE TEAMS FINISHING IN THIRD PLACE. AND HE WAS SELECTED TO THE 1966 REGIONAL ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM.
HE WAS KNOWN FOR HIS SPEED IN THE FIELD AND ON THE BASES. "ONE OF THE FASTEST SOFTBALLERS AROUND THESE PARTS. HE COVERS THE OUTFIELD A LA WILLE MAYS." QUOTE FROM THE LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER. 1964.
