IN RECOGNITION OF DEPOSIT BANK OF MONROE COUNTY SUPPORTING SOFTBALL AND GIVING FINANCIAL AID TO SOFTBALL TEAMS IN MONROE COUNTY.
TOMPKINSVILLE, KENTUCKY HAS SPONSORED AND SUPPORTED MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SOFTBALL TEAMS SINCE 1971. THIS FOURTEEN YEARS OF CONTINUOUS SPONSORSHIP IS ONE OF THE LONGEST IN KENTUCKY. MR. CHARLIE V. KIRKPATRICK HAS SERVED AS PRESIDENT SINCE 1969 AND HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN MANY OTHER SPORTS AND CIVIC ACTIVITIES.
HIS BANK WAS THE SPONSOR OF THE 1983 NATIONAL, MISS T.E.E.N. WINNER, MISS KELA LYONS OF TOMPKINSVILLE. THE DEPOSIT BANK MEN’S TEAM, PLAYING IN THE MAJOR CLASS UNDER THEIR TALENTED MANAGER, RICK MILLER, SHOWS AN OVERALL RECORD OF 692 WINS AND 225 LOSSES IN 14 YEARS, WHILE THE WOMENS’ TEAMS HAVE A RECORD OF 117 WINS, 60 LOSSES.
IN 6 SEASONS, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN SHOW WINNING PERCENTAGES OF NEAR. 700. THE DEPOSIT BANK MEN’S TEAM HAS PLAYED IN 12 KENTUCKY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENTS IN THE MAJOR CLASS. THE DEPOSIT BANK SOFTBALLERS HAVE AMASSED 169 TROPHIES.
