In recognition of outstanding ability as a player/manager for 19 years. Served as district commissioner from 1964-1985, a total of 22 years. Clyde is presently serving as Deputy Kentucky State Commissioner. He was also an umpire for 12 years. In 1966, he was tournament director for the men's slow pitch tournament which was played in Paris, Kentucky. In 1973, he was director of the first state tournament for boys 15 & Under and 18 & Under. In his first year as district commissioner, he registered 5 teams and in 1985 he registered 45 teams. Clyde's softball career started as a fast pitch player in 1956 with the 24th Air Force and ended in 1974 as a player/manager for a total of 19 years. He played in 9 state championship tournaments but never played slow pitch. He helped promote the slow pitch game when there was not many slow pitch teams in the state of Kentucky.
