In his 35 years (1950-1984), Bob attained prominence as one of the premier fast pitch pitchers in Kentucky. He holds the record for the most consecutive games won in state tournament play from 1965-1969. And also, pitched and won the championship game in 1973 and 1974. There has never been a pitcher in Kentucky to come close to his record.
He holds the record for the most consecutive Kentucky State tourney wins at twenty (1963-1970). His accomplishments are: won 476 games, lost 157. Pitched twenty no-hitters of which four were perfect games. He pitched for 9 State champions and 7 State runners-up and was voted numerous honors to regional, state, all-star teams, and MVP twice (1968 & 1974) Won all his team's state tournament victories.
He was Kentucky's first ASA player representative. He wrote and published, "A History of Kentucky Fast Pitch Softball", the only publication of its kind produced to date. He was on the first Kentucky Hall of Fame & Honor Committee.
